I just am frustrated with the holidays. Today is Christmas Eve and I had to work. Granted it was only from 8am until 2:30pm, but that's not the point. The point is that while most people were home preparing for their glorious holiday gatherings, I was toiling away at less than desirable work tasks. Ok, so I'm at home now and instead of wrapping presents or baking goodies I'm typing on the computer.
"Why?" you ask.
Because, my holiday plans (meager as they were) were canceled by my sister-in-law. It was supposed to be a nice evening. Me, my husband, his sister, her son, and her new boyfriend of a little over a month were supposed to be exchanging gifts, eating delivery pizza, and spending some awkward quality time together. I know what you're thinking... I'd be jealous of my super, awesome plans too. But covet no more, good sir! Psycho sister-in-law called off Christmas this morning. Yep, that's right - the entire Christmas holiday has been canceled. Sorry to be the one to break the news to you. If it makes you feel better, I found out via text message at 9:23 this morning.
I know you are all curious as to why she decided to cancel our super, awesome Christmas evening, so I shall keep you in suspense no longer:
I had to work today. My husband works retail and won't get off until 8:30pm at the earliest. Her boyfriend had to be home for a family get together by 4pm. Her ex-husband is picking up her son at 6pm. Keep in mind that she knew all of this way beforehand. However, it all got blamed on me. I messed up the super, awesome plans. I screwed up her schedule, but instead of trying to compromise and schedule a new date and/or time - she canceled Christmas.
So, now I sit at the computer typing the first installment of my very own blog, because I have nothing to do on Christmas Eve.
